Focus for the Future
This programme aimed at raising aspirations, is delivered over 3 sessions and aimed at Year 6 pupils. It aids their transition into secondary education and enhances their understanding of the world of work.
The sessions involve team working, problem solving, communication skills and exploring creative ideas. Contact with local business people is a key part which helps pupils to learn about jobs they may be interested in for their future career. They also map out their next steps for secondary school and learning how this can have a positive effect on their personal development and achievements.

'This was an excellent opportunity for our pupils to experience the world of business first hand. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it has had a lasting impact on all of them.'
'Without Sarah from Steps Ahead Training, our children would not have had the chance to pitch and sell a product, that they designed and made, to the general public. The children were so enthusiastic and they loved convincing business leaders that their product was the best! It was a fantastic experience for our Year 5 & 6 pupils.'
I work with local Secondary schools running specific sessions to help pupils transition to their new school when they move into Year 7. These sessions aim to be fun and interactive so pupils meet new friends and become familiar with their new environment before their first day.
