Employability Skills Programme
Aimed at students in Years 10 - 13, this programme can be delivered to 12 students over 6-8 sessions or to larger groups over half or full day activities.
The programme involves building self confidence, identifying individual goals and areas for development, CV writing, making successful job applications and interview skills. Practice interviews can be arranged with business representatives where required. Individual careers guidance can be included in this programme.
The areas covered can be linked in with the Edexcel Workskills Award which can give students part of an additional qualification when they leave school. It is portfolio based and can be delivered at Levels 1 -3.
Evaluations of the programme will be completed to help monitor 'value added' for each individual student.
Careers Advice & Guidance
As a qualified IAG practitioner, I can support young people to explore future education and career options. These sessions aim to assist with signposting for future progression.
I can offer specific career planning sessions for Years 10, 11 & 12 both to groups and individuals, depending on requirements. I am able to work with up to 12 students at any one time, and would also include one to one meetings to discuss individual plans.
This helps young people through their transition from education into employment by linking development sessions to individual needs, including mentoring and coaching on a one to one basis.
Mentoring & Coaching
These one to one sessions can be delivered as a stand-alone intervention or can be delivered to compliment the career planning programme for specific students who are not currently reaching their potential.
If needed, contact with local business people can be arranged to enhance the delivery.
One to one practice interviews with local employers, to give students a valuable learning experience and a taste of how demanding and competitive applying for a job can be.
Linking into specific subjects or themes, these half day and full day activities are tailored to suit specific needs. They can be delivered to large groups and will develop self confidence, creative ideas, communication and team-working skills, along with an improved awareness of business and the world of work.
Creating a fun, memorable first visit to their new school can make all the difference to Year 6 pupils moving upto secondary education. These half day and full day activities are linked to a specific theme (usually identified by the Head of Year 7) and designed to support a smooth transition into a new learning environment.
Prices provided on application and agreement of programme content and delivery schedule.
